Afternoon Dismissal Procedures
Afternoon Dismissal Procedures
In an effort to ensure safety and increase efficiency, we are making a change to the dismissal traffic pattern this year. Drop off in the morning will remain the same; car riders are dropped off in front and buses unload in the back. In the afternoon, we will do the reverse. Buses will load in the front and cars will line up in the back to be loaded. The back lot gives us more room for traffic flow and more room to load students. Below are details and helpful hints to aid in the process.
-
Dismissal is at 2:35.
-
Car riders will meet in the back hallway and be escorted outside at 2:40 to start loading.
-
Cars will pull up and we will load students in the order of the cars.
-
Cars will exit out the drive at the end of the playground.
-
To prevent a back-up on Jefferson, we are suggesting that you make a left onto Jefferson and then a right on to Binford. When you reach Lyndhurst Rd., you can make a left or right to leave the neighborhood.
-
Your child’s teacher will give you a colored piece of paper with your child’s name on it to display in the window of your vehicle for the first few weeks until the staff gets to know you.
-
The blacktop area will be closed off until 2:30 when recess is over. When the cones are removed, cars may pull to the end of the fence for loading.
-
Buses arrive around 2:15. They will line-up in the standing lane out front. If you are coming to pick up your child early for an appointment, you should not park along the curb as you may get blocked in.
Thank you in advance for your patience as we make this change. The first few days may take a little longer, but I feel once we establish a routine, it will actually move faster and increase safety.
