Berkeley Glenn's Homework Policy
Homework is to provide meaningful reinforcement of curriculum objectives ands kills taught, and it is an effective means of providing consistent communication between school and home.
Homework should be a review of skills taught during the classroom instructional time; therefore students should be able to complete homework independently or with minimal assistance
It is important to complete and return homework assignments on time as homework will be checked.
Homework will be focused on SOLs and four core subjects: English, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
Each classroom teacher has an established routine for assigning homework. If parents have questions, they should contact their children's teachers.
If parents have concerns about excessive time that their child is spendingon their homework, they are encouraged to contact their children's teachers.
Daily reading (orally, silently, or with a parent/family member) is essential to student achievement and success.
